One of the latest trend in Indian entartainment industry is the fever of Multiplexes . And sacrosanct names in terms of multiplex are ADLABS ,pvr and INOX . You ask your friends,co-workers,family-member-teen that where they want to see the movies ? the answer will ofcourse be either Adlabs or Inox or PVR .
now why ? why these multiplexes have an edge over the other solo-theaters? because they are new (?!) , have good cinematic technology or better experience ? You have to agree because they write these in their ads . The reality is simply they come with a eye-showy shops , exotic building structures , and you want to see some attractive persons, also you want to feel rich i.e to show that you have money . We cannot blame anyone in our country becuase that is the culture here . As 70% indians are not upto the mark in their economical issues it is very easy rest of the people here to show that they are rich .
Ask the crowds(college students & young adults) of ADLABS how many of you came to watch the movie or you just came because of the good ambience ? If they came for the movie then ask why spending so much on here? they will reply "the Adlabs experience" . OK, you watch the same movie in a A grade simple halls like EROS ,regal, newexcelsior, globe, Liberty, nandan. They also have sound technologies like Dolby DTS and adlabs says they have "super xenon projection system" . But whatever hightech things you have at the start of the show all you see is what is at the screen . I find No difference between the ’ordinary’ screens of metro with extra ordinary screens of metro-adlabs.
So I clearly feel that for the movie experience going to a non-multiplex is the same as that of a big named multiplex .So why spent Rs 200? u can easily do it by spending Rs 50+- balcony seat also . I can tell you my idea in this respect . Go to multiplexes and watch the movie when with your boyfriend/girlfriend . Or just roam different shops but dont buyfrom them as they have a 1.5 - 2 times price . You can park ur car in the multiplex as those are well guarded and goto elsewhere !!. if u went to see the movie itself go to a ordinary but good hall. You will enjoy the movie better . Remember if u r not in multiplex then in the movie u r getting the same as that of the multiplex .
And Never go to multiplexes with spouse, I will not tell you why but may have a bitter experience later Be careful at ur vanity bag, purse and especially Mobile phones as u know when in PVR complex indicates a good bank balance so u must have 2-3 credit cards , cash , a good hi-tech mobile at your pocket .The Dome experience at Anil Wadala Link Road at Mumbai is the best multiplex I have seen till date .If you think that Adlabs’ spectators are better ones then u r wrong . Many have a feeling that they are not that much safe in ordinary halls, but if you look at you newspaper regularly then u can see incidents in multiplexes too .
If you see movies in multiplexes , at the time when the show ends and you are coming out of the hall , u will feel like " THIS MUCH RUPEES FOR THIS ?! ". And you will promise next time you will not come but rather go to a different movie hall .
